Upright Memorial Restoration
Upright Restoration
Illustrated above are before and after photos of an upright grey granite memorial. As you can see from the first picture, the stone had heavy growth of lichens and moss. Even from a close distance the inscriptions were virtually unreadable.
The restored memorial is now fully legible. No pressure washers, acids or bleaches were used in the cleaning process. Pressure washing a granite memorial could potentially cause damage. Although granite it the hardest memorial type used in the memorial industry, it is still susceptible to damage. A pressure washer with a high PSI could potentially cause damage to deep engravings.
